Hi. I just wanted to let you know, I came across your work from Lifehacker, and created a DeviantArt account exclusively to offer my praise. The hax you display with the Sweeter Home launcher, and all of these layouts you've displayed... they are pure inspirational. Clean, edgy, modern, etc -- So good.
I just wish it were easier to search for your work in Sweeter Home-- it seems I can only display lists of themes organized by popularity, etc.
Something to think about: Put together a full package... maybe a .rar that includes all necessary files and instructions to take your phone from lame stock to some of your settings here. Then -- sell it. If you make it easy enough for people to understand, you might be surprised how successful it potentially could be. Think of how many dumb $0.99 apps people buy --- I'd immediately pay a few bucks for your creative work to be on my phone -- it's so good.
Wow, I'm completely taken aback, thank you so very much. Honestly I'm only now starting to get the hang of good design, after about 10 months of getting my Galaxy SII. I've been inspired by other people's work and gradually realized just how much this OS is capable of. While I am more than flattered at the thought that I could sell this stuff - the point remains I'm only just assembling things on my phone to make it look the way I want it to. Its nothing but a hobby I love, and there are already other people who actually create a lot of what goes on their screens.
Instead I'm ever ready and happy to help anyone out if they have any questions about how I got a certain something to look a certain way. I don't think anyone should have to pay more for making an already expensive phone look good. Especially when it comes to things like wallpapers and icons.
That said, you can search (themes > menu > search) for my username "dandylion" and you will see all the themes I've uploaded on the sweeterhome server. Just install a theme and add/remove widgets according to your needs. In most of the themes I have mentioned all the widgets that I've used, I might not have in some because its easy to forget not everyone has spent months getting the hang of this stuff. In which case all details are available here anyway.
Thank you once again for the wonderful compliments and for making a casual hobbyist feel super cool
haha! THIS was the theme I tried to do something with when I downloaded and installed Sweeterhome. I got so frustrated, so quickly, I had to abort! But that doesn't take away from the fact that this layout it most definitely awesome.
Really? damn, you should have started with something easier .. I swear if you try to get to know the launcher you could come up with even more spectacular stuff. In any case, thanks very much Alan.
